Thomas (TJ) - United States Army

TJ - Flags of Valor
TJ can trace his family's service to our great Nation all the way back to the Revolutionary War.  In his words, "I didn't want to break tradition.  I always knew that I would serve."  TJ, an Army Veteran, originally served from 1989 - 1996.  After the events of Sept 11, 2001, TJ was called to serve again.  After receiving medical clearance, TJ served in the Army again from 2006 - 2010.
Service, in TJ's experience, takes many shapes.  While stationed at Guantanamo Bay a hurricane hit Cuba.  TJ, and members of his unit, as part of Operation Sea Signal, immediately went into action to help save migrants impacted by the storm's damage.
TJ is most proud of his time serving "as a team leader in Iraq and bringing all of my soldiers home."
At Flags of Valor, TJ "finally feel I'm in a workplace where I feel like I belong and fit.  I'm working with people who think and feel the same way I do."
TJ is married with one daughter and is an avid mountain biker and motorcycle rider.
