Flag Build With the Patriots and TAPS - Serving Our Heroes

Flag Build With the Patriots and TAPS - Serving Our Heroes

We are constantly overwhelmed by the passion and devotion so many American's have for serving others. This was epitomized by the incredible servant leaders at TAPS (Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors) and the New England Patriots' Salute to Service. The TAPS and Patriot's team went above and beyond to give the families of fallen service members a unique opportunity to grieve together, share stories of courage, and celebrate the memories of the heroes we hold so dear.

We were privileged to lead a flag build experience with these wonderful families where each of them crafted and commemorated a wood American flag in memory of their lost service member. We worked with them hand in hand as they built their very own wooden flag memorial. Each flag was finished with an inscription on the back highlighting the moment and the name of their loved one. All of the families then signed the back and left notes of love and joy for those who are no longer with us.

On top of the special bond we shared with each of these families, we also witnessed the immense joy they received from being together and interacting with the devoted New England Patriots franchise. Owner, Robert Kraft, gave a heartfelt speech and then took the time to personally meet with every single family. He clearly was not in a rush and valued the time he was able to share with each of them. There is no doubting his reverence for the families that serve our country.

It was a great privilege for Flags of Valor to participate in this event and to present Robert Kraft with a custom wood flag dedicated to his service of others. Thank you TAPS and the New England Patriots for remembering our heroes!
